The Teen Titans was a TV series on Cartoon Network that included a group of superheroes who protected their city from utter destruction and some absurd villains.

It was quite popular from 2003 through 2006. The stories behind each episode and even the movie were well scripted and developed. As a young teenager during this time, I thoroughly enjoyed the series and felt rather connected with the characters.

It was something where (despite being fictional) I looked up to the team of Titans. I sometimes fantasized about being part of the team (or at least being friends with them). 15-year-old me was “crushing” on Raven (hardcore) 😉. Honestly, they were pretty much animated role models.

The Teen Titans:

The team consisted of 5 people; Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, and Robin. Each character brought a unique flavor to the team. Aspects such as specific skills and personalities that complemented each other very well.

When someone was in trouble (whether it was physical, emotional or psychological) another member was there to have the answer. They were the epitome of the “perfect” team through all their imperfections. I also loved the “sub-stories”…
